[TheUWfarm] Happenings at the Farm and To Do List

Hello fellow food eaters! Don't forget, or if you don't already know, there is going to be a PIZZA BAKE () at the farm THIS FRIDAY, August 6th ()!!!! And if you are feeling like contributing some fun and exciting manual labor, we will be having a work party (mostly compost () and weeding of the permaculture area)  before hand starting at 11. So come by, get a little work done, and then feast on pizza all night! And remember, it's potluck style so bring dough, sauce, or a topping to share if you can!
And if you would like some kale or sorrel, there is a bunch in the greenhouse fridges (look in both fridges)! Take that stuff home!

Here is the To-Do-List. it will also be on the farm cabinet, like usual!

Section A
*clear out isle ways between rows (pull up weeds, and falling over plants)
*A6- harvest Anise Hyssop (purple flowers) and sow in a cover crop
*A11- think of winter grain (might have to buy seeds but look first) and sow in A11

Section C
*C8- harvest kale and cabbage and sow in a cover
*Cut back holly bush, especially behind bed C5
*Move row of buckets back from B area (the one's with tiny kales coming up and onions and basil) to C area along the greenhouse (needs 3 person man power)

Section D
*WATER Jerusalem artichoke in far corner!
*Eat the Corn Salad or compost! it's megabolting (behind the basil)
*Sow cover in D16

Herb Spiral Area
carefully replace water in buckets with Wapato

*add compost to buckets behind chicken coop with squash in them- just a top layer to help the dry soil

Note:
*For all cover cropping areas you can find the seeds in the farm cabinet in a brown box labeled cover crops. You can pick whichever one you want, read the label and make sure    it's good for fall/ winter because that's what we're now planting for.

Thank's everyone, hopefully I'll see you around the farm!!

cultiver le monde!
Julia
