We had an awesome meeting tonight,and one of the things we decided was that it is time to start being more proactive and agitating in our campaign to farm Foege Field. Thus, next week we are going to be painting- Why Not Here, Why Not Now-UW Farm is ready to farm this campus- or something like it, on signs that next friday (the 14th) we will be placing all over campus, especially on Foege Field itself. This means we need scrap wood. Do you have wood pieces that could make nice looking signs? Are you a dumpster diver or scavenger? Please bring some wood to the farm! We will need sign pieces, as well as stakes. We will be stacking them neatly behind the mattress steamer (the big red metal thing) by the cob oven. Some suggestions for sites to get wood are below. Also, this friday, I will be foraging some wild salad at 10:15 or so for our potluck with Mecha,First Nations student group that afternoon at 1pm. Join me if you like, but I will be going fast, if you want to learn !
