UW Farm Updates

Tuesday Farm Lunch starts this week!

Beth will be running the tuesday farm lunch seminar on Tuesdays from 12:30 - 1:20 in Anderson 022. If there are farmers who have a particular interest they'd like to explore it would be great to send ideas/speaker suggestions to Beth at elizaw@uw.edu. The seminar will focus on more or less equal parts reading/discussion partnered with visiting speakers this fall. The readings will focus on G.E. crops and sustainable agriculture. This is offered C/NC, but you don't have to register to show up!

Topic this Tuesday, October 5: Why the Urban Farm - a virtual tour

Come to our First All Farm Meeting of the Year

Welcome back! Fall is here and there is tons of work to be done to prepare the farm for the coming season. This includes getting beds ready for cover crop, laying down new wood chips, and a final harvest of our summer crop! There is also the first all farm meeting. All farm meetings are a great way to learn how to get involved with the farm, and take part in the collaborative process that makes the farm such a unique and wonderful community. We will hear from all our committee leaders about future projects, hear general updates, and discuss how and when to volunteer. So come one and come all! The meeting is Wednesday, October 6th at 5 pm at the Botany Greenhouse. [At 4:30 we will be giving orientation tours to those who want them.]

Yee haw!

New Volunteer Orientation for the UW Student Food Cooperative

The UW Student Food Cooperative is holding an orientation for new volunteers (or those who aspire to volunteer). Taking place this Wednesday, October 6 from 7 - 7:45 pm in Suzallo Cafe, this session will include a slideshow to explain different committees and ways to be involved. Perfect for anyone who has an interest in helping out a growing food cooperative on campus!
