[TheUWfarm] UW Farm Activities this coming Saturday, the 19th!

Hi everyone!

I heard the workparty this weekend went awesomely.  I can't wait to head down there tomorrow and see everything you got up to!

You may know Lane, one of the Farm interns this quarter.  His intern project is to construct the greenhouse that SYGW got donated to the Farm several months ago.  He is planning on doing so this coming Saturday, the 19th!  If you would like to assist, stop by the Farm on Saturday!  (Lane, please let us know what time is best!)

Everyone!  I have a slight, last minute correction!  In order to line up with the Just Garden Project timetable, the workparty tomorrow will be 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM!  Sorry for the mistake.  Hope it's not too much of an inconvenience!  And if you absolutely cannot show up until 11:00, you should still come on by. =)

Hello, Farmers!

There are two more Saturday workparties this month!

The first is this weekend, Sat the 12th, from 11-3.  It will be lead by the ever-wonderful Rachel Stubbs, and will combine the forces of volunteers from the Just Garden Project with UW Farm students!
The next, and last UW Farm workparty of the quarter is on May 26th - unlike past workparties, this one will be from 10-2!  Instead of thinking of it as getting up a whole hour earlier, think of it as having a whole other hour to fritter away in the afternoon sun.  I am looking forward to seeing you there.

In exciting Farm news, we had our first harvest at the CUH this morning!  UW Farm Dirty Dozeners bicycled down to the site and helped me harvest, rinse, and refrigerate our overwintered kale, mustard, and lettuce for sale to HFS!  I do believe our dreams are being realized.  Keep your peepers peeled for a blog post about it coming up in the next week.

Stay tuned for summer workparties and volunteer opportunities!

Enjoy the sun!
