Dear students, faculty, and staff:

We are very pleased and excited to announce the First Annual Acequia Agroecology and Permaculture Field Studies School to be held in Colorado's high altitude San Luis Valley and northern New Mexico's Rio Grande corridor during the Summer 'A' session running June
24-July 24.

The course is limited to 21 students and will involve travel to an altitude of 8,100 ft above sea level and require the ability to engage in strenuous activities at that altitude and higher as we explore the 80,000-acre wild lands of the mountainous Sangre de Cristo Land Grant commons.

Join us to study with farmers and learn ancient agroecological and permaculture methods and principles through direct experience on America's oldest continuously operated farms held by Native American and Chicano families for generations.

OUR FIRST INFORMATIONAL MEETING WILL BE HELD ON JANUARY 25 (12noon) IN DENNY HALL (room to be announced).

I have attached a course announcement for your reading convenience. Please email Professor Peña if you have any questions.

Please share this message with interested students.
