[TheUWfarm] sustainability conference - UBC?

Hi Farmers:

Next January there is a conference on sustainability at UBC.    I am wondering if a few of you want to work together to submit a proposal to talk about growing sustainability at the university through 're-localizing' the food system of the campus.   I have some thoughts about how we might organize a proposal like this.  Maybe it could include HFS, the Food Coop, some Tilth folks, and of course- UW Farmers?  Maybe it could focus just on the farm: how can we quantify our impacts?

If you are interested in being part of a group to brainstorm writing a proposal together lets meet sometime next week.   Proposals are due March 24th.  I think this could be a great way to get some UW Farmers to an international (but close) meeting, and to broaden our own thinking about the role of a student farm.

If you want to be part of the brainstorming session - please e-mail me and I'll send out a doodle poll to interested folks!

Thanks Everyone
Beth

PS - read below for more information.

Also - I am currently accepting applications for spring quarter farm interns - Please apply by Wednesday Next week!
