[TheUWfarm] Ready... Set... Organize! (RSO) workshop on campus, April 21st

Hello UW Farm! My name is Anshika and I wanted to invite the farm community to join an event on campus that I'm very excited about, and that I think you have much to offer to, about called RSO (Ready... Set... Organize!) on April 21st. The goal is to celebrate the history and diversity of activism on campus, and to share the wealth of organizing knowledge and skills we have as students. The UW Farm has always been one of the most proactive and energized communities of students I've ever worked with, and hope some of you will be able to join us for the summit! Below are details for the event, feel free to contact me (or Katie Stultz, contact info below) with any questions.

RSO: Ready, Set, Organize: A summit for student organizing - Saturday, April 21st, 10:30-5pm, Savery Hall 260, UW
Throughout the University of Washington's 150 year history, student activism has been a rich part of the campus culture and experience. RSO: Ready, Set, Organize is a summit to celebrate UW's history of student activism and to provide workshops and trainings to teach students how to organize on the UW campus. The event is a part of the HuskyFest celebrations for the UW's 150th Anniversary.  The workshops will cover methods, tactics, and all ranges of organizing including; volunteer recruitment and retention,  using non-violent direct action, creating a campaign plan, how to navigate the University bureaucracy, and a non traditional workshop called "What every campus organizer can learn from Harry Potter".

The event will also feature Seattle City Councilmember Nick Licata (WashPIRG Chapter chair 1974), and Garry Owens, Seattle Neighborhood Projects Fund (Black Student Union founding member.
