Description: We will study the intersection of economic and environmental globalization through the vantage point of the world food system. Special emphasis will be given to global economic disparities, sources of world hunger, environmental justice, commodity supply chains, international agricultural institutions, the social and environmental consequences of meat, the organic food movement, the fair trade movement, and the political controversies surrounding genetically modified food.
