[TheUWfarm] Providence Hospitality House

The Providence Hospitality House emailed us a little while ago asking for help. Here's a little information from them...

"Providence Hospitality House is an emergency shelter for homeless mothers with children. We serve three families at a time, which is 3 mom's and 10 kids. We have been around since 1978, when Sister Kay Van Stralen saw a need for emergency shelter for single mothers with children who may not be leaving a domestic violence situation. We attempt to make the families feel as welcome and respected as possibly while giving them and their children a stable, vibrant atmosphere... Right now however our home is not complete without a garden...I would love for you guys to scope it out and come ready to work with me! Possibly teach me how to get the harden in shape? We have 3 soil boxes currently, with only weeds and rosemary growing! Yikes! Is anyone interested in helping me bring life back to Providence Hospitality House?"

and here is a link to their website: http://www.providencehospitality.org/

I am trying to organize a crew to get over there soon. Is anyone able to go over there with starts and tools and work for a few hours this Saturday. I know lots of people are busy with finals and stuff, but if you are free and want to get your hands dirty and help out email me at: ninarlein@gmail.com

Thanks,
Nina
