[TheUWfarm] Learn from a sustainable organization and win a trip to Portland....

Hey all,

Sorry this isn't directly farm-related (a good example of something that will be included in farm newsletters during the school year! Remember to send me or uwfarm@uw.edu your submissions....first newsletter of the year goes out at the beginning of October), but I thought it was still relevant to the interests of many UW Farm people!

I've been working with an environmental research and policy think tank called Sightline Institute all summer, and they're currently on the lookout for one northwesterner (and guest) to send to Portland for three days (train tickets, hotel, meals, and activities included). All you have to do is help spread the word about their daily and weekly emails before October 1.

If you're not already subscribed, start by signing up: http://www.sightline.org/Sweepstakes/sign-up-sightline-sweepstakes/. Then, get out your address book and use this form to ask your friends to sign up: http://www.sightline.org/Sweepstakes/refergen2. For every new subscriber your recruit, you'll be entered to win. It's as easy as that.

You can choose the daily update or weekly update option - you'd get awesome updates about sustainable news stories in the northwest and updates on Sightline's blog posts. I truly wouldn't be passing this along if I didn't think their site was great. Check out their blog here. :)

Thanks for helping out Sightline!
