Dirty Dozen Hours Updated! Come and Help at the Farm, any Weekday.

You can now view our updated Dirty Dozen hours on our calendar. What does this mean? Our Dirty Dozen crew helps plan out the week's farm to-do list, and each member has two scheduled work hours per week. Anyone can come and help down at the farm, but sometimes people aren't sure what they are supposed to do. This is where the calendar comes in. If you'd like some extra guidance or just a few people to work with, check out the calendar and visit the farm during our "scheduled work hours." We look forward to seeing you!

Off Farm Stuff

Clean Greens Farm and Market – Get Involved!

Clean Greens Farm and Market was established to supply fresh, wholesome produce to families in need in Seattle's Central District and other communities. Some of these communities do not have access to healthy produce, and are located in what is known as food deserts. Most residents in these areas have a higher rate of poor diet related illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol. The number of obesity cases is also on the rise. Our market is committed to delivering quality produce to those families who otherwise would not have access to it.

Ways you can be involved with Clean Greens!
1) They are currently accepting CSA orders, which you can view here.
2) There are always volunteer opportunities with Clean Greens. Contact them at cleangreensfarmandmarket@gmail.com.

Do You Know the Truth About Sodexo?
Come Find Out At the UW Sodexo Truth Trial
Thursday, April 14th, 5:30pm, Savery 260

On Thursday April 14th, students from United Students Against Sweatshops at the University of Washington are bringing Carina Mieses—a Sodexo worker from the Dominican Republic—to the UW campus to expose Sodexo's global human rights abuses.

Sodexo, the massive French corporation, serves more food to U.S. college students than any other company, but pays sub-poverty wages and violates workers' rights to freedom of association worldwide, including on many US campuses. Students across the country launched their "Kick Out Sodexo" campaign in solidarity with workers in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, the United States and any place where Sodexo workers are fighting for justice. Here at the UW, Sodexo has a multi-million dollar contract to provide concessions at Husky athletic events, and students across campus are demanding that President Wise terminate the UW's contract with Sodexo over the company's long record of human rights violations.

The event—the last of the nation-wide Sodexo Truth Tour—will be held on the UW campus in Savery 260 at 5:30 on Thursday, April 14th. It will be organized as a trial with a panel of judges who hear testimonies from Sodexo workers, concerned campus-community members, and human rights experts with the aim of passing a judgment on the company's business record to deliver to UW President Phyllis Wise.

Check out the event on Facebook! Hope to see you there!
