[TheUWfarm] Help the UW Farm Compost! Get involved

Hey Farmers,

It is a brand new quarter and I am looking for more people to help harvest compost materials from around the campus. There are alot of easy ways to get involved.

1. Pick up coffee grounds from the hBar, which is a small cafe in the physics department. This needs to happen every day at 3:30 or 4. E-mail me with which days you are available and I will come up with a schedule.

2. Pick up food scraps from the Rotunda cafe, which is a cafeteria in the health sciences building across the street from the farm. This needs to happen around 12:30-1 everyday. E-mail me with availability and I will create a schedule.

3. Collect food scraps from your department/school office/home/anywhere and bring them down to the farm. If you are interested in doing this, e-mail me and we can meet up and I can show you the system.

4. Free Compost from Cedar Grove!!!! Cedar Grove is giving away 2 bags of compost to every household in the city of Seattle, you should be receiving the coupon in the mail soon if you haven't already. Keep an eye out for it in your mail.  You should take advantage of this if you can, if you don't have a garden, make one! Plant pots in your apartment windows, on your front porch, anywhere you can. If you are not going to be using these coupons, bring them down to the farm and we will make sure they get used.

Thanks so much everyone! Compost is a KEY FACTOR to sustainable farming.
