We are organizing a field trip to San Juan Island on the weekend of Feb 27th, 28th to visit some cool farms. We will stay either at my parent's place on 40 acres of old farmland, or at Beth's sister in law's cabin. To carpool, we must be willing to pitch in for gas, roughly $6 to get across on ferry, and some money to make some good meals. It will be a great time to get away from the city, visit some farms, and ruminate on what we are going to accomplish in the coming months at the farm. The basic plan will be to leave Friday afternoon and return sun morning although this can change depending on logistics. Please email me if you are interested in coming, and let me know if you have access to a car. If you want to come but can't spare the bucks for gas/ferry, don't worry, we will make it work. ps: Joanne, Rachel and I just threshed and winnowed our quinoa crop and we got about 6 cups of beautiful quinoa, while learning a bit about the ancient (and damn fun) art of winnowing!
